Introduction
When using vSpace Pro Enterprise, to ensure uninterrupted service and full functionality of your environment, your deployment must be compliant with NComputing’s licensing policy. Compliance primarily revolves around having an active vSpace AMP (Annual Maintenance Program) subscription for all connected device serial numbers and ensuring your host server meets the necessary operating system requirements.
Check vSpace AMP License Compliance
A vSpace AMP subscription is mandatory for all NComputing devices using vSpace Pro Enterprise Edition to activate the software beyond the initial trial period. Without a subscription, the deployment is limited to a one-time, 7-day trial that supports a maximum of 5 concurrent connections.
A. Using the NComputing Management Portal
Once you are logged in with our credentials, you can:
- Check vSpace AMP Coverage: The Management Portal allows you to view the vSpace AMP licenses you own and check it against the number of active serial numbers reported in your local environments. Go to: My vSpace Installations > vSpace Pro Compliance page.

- Identify Discrepancies: You will be able to determine clearly if you have less AMP licenses than registered devices, as your account will have a “Not In Compliance” warning label.
Clearing the discrepancy can happen by adding more licenses (📗How can I purchase AMP (Annual Maintenance Plan) for vSpace Pro) or by reducing the number of active serial numbers to match your licensing count. (📗How do I remove devices reported against AMP licensing?) - Check Expiration: You can also check the expiration date of your AMP licenses.
- Ensure that your vSpace Servers have the latest vSpace Pro Enterprise software: You will be able to check your vSpace Pro version there. It is strongly recommended that you update vSpace at least, on major releases or once a year. Older versions, may be decommissioned and may no longer allow new requests for licensing synchronization from the Management Portal.
- Verify Device Registration: Ensure all NComputing thin clients (e.g., RX-series, M-series, L-series) are registered under your account.
B. Confirm your vSpace Manager app.
- Find the Compliance Label: When you launch the application, you will see a clear label, depicting your current licensing.

- Re-sync if there are any discrepancies: Click on the Refresh button if you suspect a pause on syncing your licensing.

C. Understanding License Behavior
- License Basis: AMP for vSpace is based on the total count of serial numbers reporting in your network, not the number of concurrent sessions or number of vSpace servers.
- Trial Mode: If you are using vSpace Pro Enterprise Edition without a license, it will operate in trial mode with limitations (📗Understanding vSpace Pro Enterprise Licensing and Trial Mode Limitations). After the trial expires permanently and within 7 days, the system will no longer allow connections until AMP licensing has been purchased and synchronized.
2. Check Host Server Operating System Compliance
For optimal performance and support, you must use a supported Windows OS with the latest vSpace Pro Enterprise Edition.

Another compliance needed in Multi-User environments to be observed is the requirement to adherence to Microsoft's licensing on Server OS. The NComputing AMP subscription does not cover the separate Microsoft Remote Desktop Services Client Access Licenses (RDS CALs).
See the 🔗Windows Multi-User Licensing page at the NComputing website.
3. Check Device Compatibility
Ensure your thin clients are supported by the version of vSpace Pro you are running.
- vSpace Pro Enterprise Edition supports a wide range of devices, including RX300, RX300+, RX-RDP+, RX420(RDP), RX440(RDP), RX420(vSpace), EX500, EX500W, LEAFOS, L250, L300, L350, L400, M300, and MX-Series.
