How can I purchase AMP (Annual Maintenance Plan) for vSpace Pro?

How can I purchase AMP (Annual Maintenance Plan) for vSpace Pro?

Overview

vSpace AMP is an Annual Maintenance Plan for vSpace Pro environments. Licensing is based on the number of active eligible device serial numbers reported by the environment: each license provides coverage for one active eligible device, so you must purchase enough licenses to cover the full device count.

Understanding the Annual Maintenance Program (AMP) Family of Products

AMP is a family of NComputing maintenance products, but these are not interchangeable.

vSpace AMP, for native vSpace endpoints.

On one hand, vSpace AMP licensing, the subject of this article, ensures compliance for vSpace environments, enabling sessions to connect to compatible vSpace-native vSpace endpoints, such as the RX300, RX300+, RX420(vSpace), L300, and L400 models, with vSpace Pro Enterprise.
Utilizing modern operating systems, including Windows 11, Windows Server 2019, 2022, or 2025, necessitates vSpace Pro Enterprise, as it is the most current and prepared solution to address the need of using latest OS.
This type of licensing, when purchased, is pooled at your customer account, within the 📗NComputing Management Portal online, rather than permanently assigned to a server or particular device.

Device AMP for non-vSpace native endpoints.

In the other hand, Device AMP is a separate product for supported devices such as RDP NComputing endpoint models [RX-RDP+, RX420(RDP), RX440(RDP), RX540, RX580, EX-thin clients] and LEAF OS devices. This type of licensing is assigned per device and is primarily used for device management (Access to 📗PMC Console) and firmware updates.

Note: Device AMP does not address connection to vSpace, as it is not its purpose. Rather, a non-vSpace native device that is to connect to vSpace Pro, will also require a separate vSpace Pro connection license.

vSpace Pro Software Client
This license enables vSpace Pro Server sessions when using compatible vSpace Pro Software Client for Windows Software clients and RX420(RDP) and RX-RDP+ thin clients.

vSpace Pro Connection License for LEAFOS
Enables any NComputing LeafOS device including EX500/EX500W series thin clients to connect to vSpace Pro.
LeafOS is a Linux conversion software that enables the repurposing and extension of life of x86/x64 PCs and laptops.

Selecting the correct AMP product depends on the device type and how the device is being used.

Purchasing vSpace AMP Licenses

Accessing your Management Portal account

Alert
Important: Be sure to use the same NComputing account for both your vSpace environment and your AMP purchase. If you purchase licenses through a different account, the licenses may not be associated with your existing vSpace Server(s).

Existing vSpace Pro Environment

If you already have a vSpace Pro environment, go to the NComputing website and sign in with the same NComputing account used to register your vSpace Server(s).

New vSpace Pro Environment

If you are setting up a new vSpace Pro environment and do not yet have an NComputing account, create one before purchasing licenses.

vSpace AMP Critical Compliance Requirement

The 100% Rule

To remain compliant, maintain enough AMP licensing to cover 100% of the active eligible devices or serial numbers reported by the vSpace environment. Purchasing licenses for only part of the active device count will leave the account out of compliance.
Notes
Example: If the environment reports 50 active eligible devices, the account must have coverage for all 50 devices.

What if I have serial numbers I no longer use and are still counted against vSpace AMP?

The Management Portal may retain historical serial numbers for devices that are no longer active. Devices that have been properly deactivated and removed from the network may not count toward the active vSpace AMP compliance total, even if they remain visible in the account history.
If you wish to remove devices that have been discontinued and reduce our reported serial number count to align with your  vSpace AMP purchase, please refer to the following article: 📗How do I remove devices I no longer use from AMP count?

What if I have aged L300 Devices

vSpace AMP is the official licensing method for supporting older L300 devices (Manufactured before January 1 ,2015).
The alternative vSpace Pro Aged Device Connection License (ADCL) has been retired and is no longer available for purchase.
If you are migrating an environment that previously used ADCL licensing, review the current device count and purchase sufficient vSpace AMP licenses before bringing them in.

Summary

  1. Be familiar with the correct AMP family products: Use vSpace AMP to connect vSpace native endpoints such as the RX300, RX300+, RX420(vSpace), L300, and L400. Device AMP serves non-vSpace native to vSpace devices like the RX-RDP+, RX420(RDP), RX440(RDP), RX540, RX580, EX-thin clients, and LEAF OS device families for firmware and PMC management only and vSpace Pro connection license is sold separately.
  2. Purchase through the correct account linked to the vSpace environment. Open Management Portal → Purchase Licenses and Services, select vSpace AMP, choose the term and quantity, enter payment details, and complete the purchase.
  3. Meet the compliance requirement: Purchase enough licenses to cover 100% of the active eligible devices or serial numbers. Remember that purchases are final and cannot be transferred between accounts.
