L100, L110, L120, L200 thin clients: Error: "This client model is unsupported by your version of software"

L100, L110, L120, L200 thin clients: Error: "This client model is unsupported by your version of software"

Many factors are at play here if you receive this message:

You are using a Legacy Terminal

If you use a L100, L110, L120, L130, L200 or L230 device, these are outdated, need to be upgraded, and because of their age may have little or no support available.
L400 is the latest successor and replacement for all L-series thin clients
We suggest checking out our new line of products and consulting your sales representative or authorized partner about updating your product.  You can also check the NComputing Product Lifecycle page to identify your product and determine its support status.

Please upgrade promptly to our latest platform  vSpace Pro LTS or vSpace Pro Enterprise.

You are using a Legacy vSpace Server (End-of-Life)

The following versions are no longer supported: vSpace 4, vSpace 6, vSpace 7, vSpace 8, vSpace Pro 10, vSpace Pro 11.0, vSpace Pro 11.1, vSpace Pro 11.2, and vSpace for Linux.
Please upgrade promptly to our latest platform  vSpace Pro LTS or vSpace Pro Enterprise to ensure continued compatibility, support, and access to the latest Windows operating systems.

You are using an L250 or L300 terminal that is not properly licensed to connect to a vSpace Pro Server.

L250 and L300 devices are supported by both vSpace Pro LTS and vSpace Pro Enterprise, but licensing requirements depend on the device manufacturing date. L250 and L300 devices manufactured before January 1, 2015 must be vSpace AMP compliance.  in order to connect to either vSpace Pro LTS or vSpace Pro Enterprise. L50 and L300  devices manufactured on or after January 1, 2015 can connect to vSpace Pro LTS at no additional license cost, but must still be vSpace AMP compliant to use vSpace Pro Enterprise.
  1. Check the manufacturing date of your device.
  2. If your terminal is older than January 1, 2015, it is subject to our vSpace Compliance Policies for connecting to vSpace Pro LTS.
  3. If your terminal requires a license, no problem. You can resolve that by joining our vSpace AMP subscription program (which will include the license for your device) or you can purchase an "Aged device license".

Additional advice

If you plan to upgrade your L-series thin clients, we recommend choosing the L400 thin client. It offers the latest features, improved performance, and full compatibility with both vSpace Pro LTS and vSpace Pro Enterprise.
