Windows Server 2016, 2012 R2 U1, 2012, 2008 R2 SP1, MultiPoint Services Role (Server 2016), Windows MultiPoint Server 2012/2011, Windows 10 Enterprise/Pro (64-bit), Windows 8.1 (64-bit), Windows 7 SP1 (64-bit).

Supported Thin Clients

RX300, RX300+, L400, L250, L300, L350, M300, MX100S, MX100D, and vSpace Pro Client for Windows.

Licensing Requirements

If you have older supported devices (e.g., L250, L300, M300) manufactured prior to January 1, 2015, choose one of the following options:

·       Option 1: Purchase vSpace Pro AMP license (SKU: NC-AMP-1A) for all compatible NComputing devices registered under your NComputing Management Portal account. This is the recommended option, as it enables your entire deployment to upgrade to vSpace Pro Enterprise with the latest Windows OS support, including Windows 11 and Windows Server 2025.

·       Option 2: Purchase vSpace Pro Aged Device Connection license (SKU: vSpacePro-Old-1A) for devices manufactured before January 1, 2015. This license only permits use with vSpace Pro LTS and does not include the benefits of vSpace AMP or vSpace Pro Enterprise.

Devices manufactured after January 1, 2015 can connect to vSpace Pro LTS without restrictions.

vSpace Pro Enterprise Edition

Licensing Requirements

To deploy vSpace Pro Enterprise, an active vSpace AMP subscription is required for all applicable NComputing devices connected to vSpace Pro Server installations to enable more than five concurrent sessions beyond the 7-day trial period.

vSpace Pro Enterprise can be freely downloaded and installed, starting in a 7-day trial mode. During this period, session is limited based on device type, as described below.

Trial Mode Behavior (vSpace Pro Enterprise v12.7.4 and later)

Trial mode limitations vary by device category:

·       RX300, RX300+, L400, L250, L300, L350, M300, MX100S, MX100D, RX420(vSpace): Support up to 5 concurrent sessions for 7 days with no session time limit. Requires vSpace AMP license (SKU: NC-AMP-1A) to achieve vSpace AMP compliance to remove trial mode.

·       RX420(RDP), RX440(RDP), RX-RDP+, RX540, RX580, vSpace Software Clients: Support up to 5 concurrent sessions, 10-minute limit per session, re-login allowed. No expiration on trial period. Requires vSpace Pro Software Connection License (SKU: vSpacePro-SW-1A) to remove trial mode.

·       LEAF OS, EX500, EX500W: Follows the same trial limitation as RX420(RDP) devices above. Requires LEAF OS Software Connection License (SKU: vSpacePro-LeafOS-1A) to remove trial mode.

See the summary table below for details.

A maximum of 5 concurrent sessions are permitted from this group of devices for a one-time trial period of 7 days. There is no session time limit during the trial period. Once the trial period is over, sessions from these devices will not be allowed, and AMP for vSpace Pro will be required for these devices to establish sessions with vSpace Pro Enterprise.

* Note: RX420(RDP), RX440(RDP), RX-RDP+, RX540, RX580, or LEAF OS devices purchased with bundled vSpace connection licenses or separate vSpace Software Connection Licenses are not subject to trial mode limitations and are excluded from vSpace AMP compliance calculation. These devices have full access to vSpace Pro Enterprise without restrictions.

Legacy vSpace Servers (End-of-Life)

The following versions are no longer supported: vSpace 4, vSpace 6, vSpace 7, vSpace 8, vSpace Pro 10, vSpace Pro 11.0, vSpace Pro 11.1, vSpace Pro 11.2, and vSpace for Linux.

Customers are strongly encouraged to migrate to vSpace Pro LTS or vSpace Pro Enterprise to ensure continued compatibility, support, and access to the latest Windows operating systems.

Frequently Asked Questions

1.     Can I connect L250, L300 or M300 thin clients to Windows 11?

Yes. These models are supported by vSpace Pro Enterprise running on Windows 11, provided the deployment is vSpace AMP compliant.

2.     Can I use X-series thin clients?

No. X-series (such as the X550) were supported only on vSpace 6, which is end-of-life (EOL). Consider upgrading to RX420(vSpace) or L400, both supported by vSpace Pro Enterprise running the latest Windows operating systems.

3.     Which vSpace versions support L400 thin client?

Both vSpace Pro LTS and vSpace Pro Enterprise support L400 thin clients. vSpace Pro Enterprise offers advanced features and supports the latest Windows operating systems, including Windows 11 and Windows Server 2025.

4.     Which version of vSpace supports Windows 11?

Only vSpace Pro Enterprise provides support for Windows 11.

5.     Can L300 devices manufactured after January 1, 2015 use vSpace Pro LTS for free?

Yes. These devices can connect to vspace Pro LTS without restrictions. However, to connect to Windows 11 hosts, you must use vSpace Pro Enterprise, and vSpace AMP compliance is required.

6.     What about L300 devices manufactured before January 1, 2015, can I use vSpace Pro Servers?

Yes. You have two options:

Option 1: Use the vSpace Pro Aged Device Connection License (SKU: vSpacePro-Old-1A) to operate with vSpace Pro LTS.

Option 2: Become vSpace AMP compliant(SKU: NC-AMP-1A)  to use vSpace Pro Enterprise, which includes support for Windows 11 and Windows Server 2025.

We recommend the second option, as it provides access to the latest features, ongoing updates, and full compatibility with current Windows operating systems.

7. How does vSpace AMP compliance apply in mixed deployments for my vSpace Pro deployment?

In mixed vSpace Pro environments, only vSpace-specific thin clients — L250, L300, L350, L400, RX300, RX300+, M300, MX100S, MX100D, and RX420(vSpace) — are counted toward vSpace AMP compliance.

Multi-VDI devices — RX-RDP+, RX420(RDP), RX440(RDP), RX540, RX580, EX500, EX500W, and LEAF OS — require separate vSpace Software Connection Licenses but are not included in the vSpace AMP compliance calculation.

For example, if you have vSpace Pro Enterprise deployment includes ten L300 devices and five RX420(RDP) devices, only the ten L300 devices count toward vSpace AMP compliance calculation. Therefore, ten vSpace AMP licenses (one per L300 device) are required to achieve vSpace AMP compliance.
