vSpace Server stops accepting connections

vSpace 6 Stops Accepting Connections (4020 Fix)

Scope

Affects "Classic Version" vSpace 6.6.9.1.

Summary

We have received reports in the past, regarding aged deployments that suddenly stopped working and the sessions will no longer login.

Solution

The easiest and most practical first step of troubleshooting, would be to reboot your server.  In case that does not work, we suggest to run the executable described below in order to restore vSpace to its original integrity.  By running this file, you should not experience any changes in configuration or settings.

  1. Download the file attached to this article (attached: NComputing_Fix4020.zip).
  2. Move this file to the server(s) in question, and unzip the EXE file contained within.
  3. Launch the NComputing_Fix4020.exe by double-clicking the file. You may see, or not, a command prompt window opening and closing briefly.  The fix has been applied at this point.
  4. Once the process is complete, reboot the server.
  5. Verify that the server has been restored to full functionality by connecting one or more devices.
If this does not address your issue please read carefully:

"Classic Versions" like vSpace 6 have been discontinued for some time.  At this point, the best recommendation is to upgrade your vSpace version to our latest platform. By the writing of this article, vSpace Pro 11 and pro enterprise is the latest. As well, if you are using version 6 because of terminals that are not compatible with vSpace Pro 11 or Enterprise edition, likely, these are also outdated and need to be upgraded.  You can see our new line of products and consult your sales representative or authorized partner about updating your product.
