VERDEOS Guest Images Have no Internet ACCESS and VERDEOS can't register with the Management Portal

Product Line:  VERDE

ISSUE:

There's a temporary issue with VERDEOS networking.  By default, VDI/Guest Images will no have Internet access as well, your server can't register with the Management Portal.

A permanent fix is to replace the rc.vb-ovs-network file with the one attached to this Knowledge Base article..  It's location is:

/usr/lib/verde/bin/

A temporary fix is as follows:

If you run the ifconfig command on the VERDE server, you will see something similar to the following.  The second IP (10.0.0.173) should not be there.

SOLUTION:

Ensure all running sessions have stopped running (via the Management Console)
  • From the server.. not putty.. you need to be at the server
  • Log into the VERDE server and access the VERDE menu
  • If you log in as root, type the following to get to the menu  /usr/lib/verde/bin/verde-menu
  • Select Option 5 (Stop System Services and Networking)
  • You’ll be asked .. are you sure.. YES you’re sure
  • When the menu comes back, Select Option 4 (Start System Services and Networking)
  • Again, it’ll say are you sure… Yea.. you’re sure

This should resolve the issue.  If you do an ifconfig.. You’ll see the following IP is no longer showing:  10.0.0.173
