1. In the Management Console, check in the images. Ensure that no active sessions are running.
2. From a terminal window on the host, run the following script to convert GOW3 to QCOW 2 format. /usr/lib/verde/bin/verde-gold-image-format-conversion.sh -c
3. Check the image functionality to make sure it converted properly.
4. Proceed with whichever following action applies: If Stand-alone or Clustered environment and the image is functioning properly, proceed to cleanup (see step 5). If in a Branched environment, wait for the branch server to sync with the Cluster Master, which will then copy the new QCOW2 image files (see step 6). If the conversion fails, you can revert to the backup file GUEST.IMG.bak.
5. To run the Gold Image conversion cleanup, run the conversion script with the -r option: /usr/lib/verde/bin/verde-gold-image-format-conversion.sh –r This will remove the backup GUEST.IMG files that were created during the conversion process.
6. In a Branched environment, verify the converted files are copied over: Start the VERDE Service. After the set SmartSync interval, check to see if the upgraded QCOW2 images are being copied over.
