RX-HDX Audio settings

RX-HDX Audio settings

USB \ Analog Audio with firmware versions 2.40.3512 and newer.

RX-HDX default setting optimizes the USB audio quality and performance. This may have a negative effect on analog audio. The following audio setting applies to RX-HDX firmware versions 2.40.3512 or newer.

If analog audio (headset/speaker) or HDMI audio (built-in monitor speaker) is to be used, please follow below procedures to enhance the analog audio/HDMI audio quality and then reboot the device..

Configuration change to enhance analog (or HDMI) audio quality:
  1. Go to RX- HDX configuration setting -> Audio -> PulseAudio -> “Timer-based scheduling (tsched)”
  2. Change the parameter from ‘no setting’ to ‘off’.
  3. Click on ‘save’ and then reboot the device.

Note: This configuration change will enhance the analog audio quality but degrade the US audio quality.

Configuration change to enhance USB audio quality:

To switch back to the default setting with optimized USB audio quality:
  1. Go to RX-HDX configuration setting -> Audio -> PulseAudio - > Timer-based scheduling (tsched)
  2. Change the parameter from ‘off’ to ‘no setting’.
  3. Click on ‘save’ and then reboot the device.

Note: This configuration change will enhance the analog audio quality but degrade the US audio quality.
If there are multiple audio output devices connected to RX-HDX, please select the prefer ‘standard audio device’ (e.g. analog, HDMI or USB) shown in the screenshot below. Then configure the corresponding audio setting as described above to ensure best possible audio playback performance.
