Properly Activating/Registering Office 2010/2013 in Windows 7

Customers have occasionally observed issues with having to Re-Activating their Window 7 Image with Office 2010/2013.  Here are steps we have found that seems to address this issue:

I updated my W7 Pro (64-bit ) Gold image and installed Office 2010 Standard Edition.

I applied the Office 2010 Volume Product Key and then ‘rebooted’ the Gold image.  After it restarted, it performed a quick Registry Update and then took me back to the Desktop.

I did a ‘Shutdown’ and a ‘Check-in’ and provisioned the Windows 7 VM to my AD Login.

 I logged in using my AD Credentials and launched Word 2010.

Here is the display from the ‘Help’ pulldown.  You can see that the Product License shows ‘Product Activated’.  (below)

I don’t know if that last minute Registry Update did something in the Gold image after I ‘Restarted’ it, but is looks like what I have seen before.
