The goal of this guide is to provide a quick, easy reference guide to getting the L300 and VSpace software configured quickly and successfully.

Prepping the host operating system

  • Ensure that you begin with a supported operating system. You can view a current list of supported operating systems here.
  • Use a fresh installation of Windows for your vSpace deployment.
  • Install all drivers and windows updates. For questions about supported Windows updates and service packs you may contact NComputing support at: http://www.ncomputing.com/techsupport
  • If your host is running in a virtual machine, please follow our VM tuning guide: VM Tuning Guide
  • Back up your operating system or create a snapshot if using a virtual machine.

Download vSpace

Install vSpace

  • Extract the contents of the downloaded vSpace .zip file.
  • Run vSpace_LSeries_6.x.x.x.msi
  • Click through the installation wizard.

 Register vSpace

Bear in mind that registration is only allowed through June 30, 2020 and after that registration will not be possible.

Note:  This is a good point to create another back up image or snapshot of your operating system for expedient testing and added convenience during deployment.
When you first install Windows Server 2008 R2, Microsoft starts the clock on a 120-day grace period before the OS needs to have access to an activated RDS licensing server. This Knowledge Base document will guide you through the necessary steps to create, activate, and use the RDS licensing server with vSpace 6 for Windows.

Note: Windows Server 2008 R2 RDS CALs can only be installed on and issued from a Windows Server 2008 or Windows Server 2008 R2 Licensing server.

On your L300 select the “Refresh” button, when your server appears, select it and click “Connect”. You are now ready to begin testing your L300, applications, and security software. It is recommended to test in a manner that is as close as possible to your intended deployment.
