Keyboard Configuration
The keyboard is the primary input facility of a personal computer system. In NoTouch, you have several ways to configure the keyboard. Most people will be fine with just setting the keyboard layout (English, French, German, etc).
Keyboard layout. The keyboard layout governs the mapping between physical keys and logical keys / characters that are received by the application. For example, the key that has a ; semicolon printed on it on an American keyboard would have an รถ letter printed on it on a German keyboard. Use the is parameter to select the keyboard layout that matches your actual keyboard or desired layout. Please check the XkbVariant option below for sub-variants of a given layout.
Allow user keyboard layout. Set this parameter if you want to allow end users to change their system keyboard layout (without any authentication, but only possible when locally at the device).
User keyboard layout. The end user's keyboard layout setting. Will be used only if the above-mentioned "allow user keyboard parameter" is set to "on"; else it will be ignored and the "Keyboard layout" parameter will be used instead.
Keyboard model. The keyboard model can be used specify what sort of keyboard you have. Remember, in the past there were keyboards with a small enter key vs. a large enter key and corresponding other differences. Today, even if you have a laptop keyboard, use "auto".
XkbVariant option. Several foreign keyboard layouts offer multiple sub-versions of keyboard layouts. Each possible setting works only with a given keyboard layout, you can not arbitrarily mix them up. Using "English (UK)", if you want the so-called "English UK with extended win keys", use "extd" here
With a German keyboard, you disable the so-called dead keys for writing accented characters: use "nodeadkeys" here
In the Czech Republic or Slovakia, users can opt for the QWERTY layout variant by using "qwerty" here
NumLock setting at boot-up. If set to on, the system will activate NumLock at boot. You may also set NumLock at connection start, please see here: NumLock
Autorepeat delay. Value in milliseconds. If a key is pressed continuously for this amount of milliseconds, the so-called auto-repeat will kick in and the key will be repeated on screen.
Autorepeat rate. The rate at which such auto-repeated keypresses will be generated (characters per second / Hz).
