Instructions for using MAC with SPICE to access Linux and Windows Images

Product Line:  VERDE

As of VERDE/VERDEOS 8.2.1, it is now possible to access Linux and Windows images if you have a MAC, via SPICE protocol.  To quote the engineer:

Don't forget to install XQuartz (https://www.xquartz.org) before using the spice protocol on Mac OS.

The MAC Client that supports SPICE to access Linux and Windows images is attached to this KB article.

***TAKE NOTE***  From an Android you can access the Verde Windows VM using an HTML5 browser (mobile versions of Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox).  And from an iPhone/iPad, you can use the Dolphin browser from the App Store.

When entering the ‘Username’ field from the mobile Google Chrome browser, it always forces ‘CAPS’ on the first letter of the Username.

In my case, I was testing a Verde Local user:   jeff

But when I am prompted via the /uc5 page to enter my Username, Google Chrome makes the first letter ‘upper-case’ and my Login fails.

So I have to ‘down shift’ the CAPS on the first letter and then I am able to enter:  jeff     And my login is success.

This issue doesn’t happen on the Password field.  Only the Username field.

Just wanted you to know that.  This may also be true of Mozilla Firefox and maybe the Dolphin browser in iOS devices.

Customer Experience:
"I just tested the Dolphin browser (downloaded from Google Play Store) and installed on my Android phone and it works great.  It even has a ‘full screen’ mode, by flicking the desktop ‘up’.  You can also use the 2-finger gesture to zoom the screen and with ‘full screen’, it makes it easier to navigate the Windows 10 desktop on my small Android screen.

I am guessing that the functionality would be the same with iOS devices using Dolphin browser."
