How to Upgrade VERDE(rpm) and VERDEOS

Product Line:  VERDE

VERDEOS:  

  • Download the VERDEOS ISO from the web page and burn it to a CD/DVD or USB (bootable).
  • Ensure all VERDE sessions are shutdown
  • Ensure there are no gold images checked out
  • Stop the VERDE services on all servers except the Cluster Master server ( VERDEOS- service VERDE stop)
  • When the other servers' services have stopped, stop the VERDE services on the Cluster Master
  • Boot up the Cluster Master server via the CD/DVD or USB.
  • You'll be presented with a menu.  Choose the UPGRADE option.
  • When it's complete, the server is upgraded
  • Do the same bootup and upgrade to the remaining servers
  • Log into the Management Console.  
  • Check out one gold image at a time
  • Access the gold image via the mcadmin1 userid (this allows the guest to upgrade)
  • Shutdown the gold image
  • Check it in.
  • Do the same for all the gold images.
Your VERDEOS system is upgraded

VERDE(rpm):
  • Download the VERDE(rpm)
  • Ensure all VERDE sessions are shutdown
  • Ensure there are no gold images checked out
  • Stop the VERDE services on all servers except the Cluster Master server (rpm- /usr/lib/verde/bin/rc.verde stop  )
  • When the other servers' services have stopped, stop the VERDE services on the Cluster Master
  • Ensure there original rpm's are not in the /root directory
  • Copy/Move the new, downloaded rpm's to the /root directory
  • Run the following command:  
    • rpm -Uvh --nodeps --force VERDE*.rpm
  • If you want, reboot the system, but you shouldn't have to.
  • When it's complete, the server is upgraded
  • Do the same copying the rpm's to  /root and running    rpm -Uvh --nodeps --force VERDE*.rpm on each remaining server
  • Log into the Management Console.  
  • Check out one gold image at a time
  • Access the gold image via the mcadmin1 userid (this allows the guest to upgrade)
  • Shutdown the gold image
  • Check it in.
  • Do the same for all the gold images.

Your VERDE(rpm) system is upgraded
