Containers: Fast Access

With VERDE 8.3.4, there's a new function entitled CONTAINERS.  Containers are made available to users via DESKTOP POLICIES.  Containers provide Secure Browser access to users without requiring an Operating System

A very useful feature of Containers is FAST ACCESS desktop icon.  This feature will allow the user of Containers to create a desktop icon that will give the user immediate access to their Container.

The authenticated user will be able to sign in to their VERDE-Client to access the feature.

To Implement, the VERDE Administrator needs to Assign a Desktop Policy to the user or group.

When the Admin creates or edits the Container Desktop Policy, check the "Allow Fast Access Icon Creation" checkbox.

The intended user MUST have an updated VERDE-Client (Version 8.3.4 build  1098 or later)

Launch the VERDE client and login - the user must authenticate before they can create the "Fast Access" icon

After authenticated, then the select Action -> Create Fast Container Access Icon menu option is enabled - click:

This creates a new desktop icon:

Double-click to launch the Container

The user can also delete the desktop icon and some supporting registry entries:

In order to see the "Delete Fast Container..." the user must shutdown the running Container.

Note that the behavior of the Fast Access icon is inherited by the Option checkbox that is enabled when the icon is created. For example:

If Fullscreen Mode checkbox is checked when you create the Fast Access icon then the Container will launch in Full Screen mode:

If Fullscreen Mode is not checked when the Fast Access icon is created then the Container will open in Window'd mode.

Be aware that the desktop icon is associated with the authenticated user. You cannot copy the icon to another laptop and expect it to work. This is for security purposes.
