Product Line: VEREDE
As of VERDE 8.3.4, the database POSTGRES is used. The database is much more nimble and efficient. Due to the new database, there are design changes that need to be explained.
If the customer plans to only install VERDE on one server, there are less changes to consider. This means probably no more than 15 - 20 VDI users or approximately 50 Container users.
If the customer plans a large VERDE environment now or even later, then a new installation design should be used.
For example, the next diagram displays the design for a single VERDE server. The VERDE server with IP 192.168.24.4 has responsibility for hosting Database, the Cluster Master, VDI and Container Sessions.
This version is NOT intended to grow. If this is the plan, please select the following link and you'll be taken to the single-server VERDE and Postgres install instructions:
If you're planning to deploy VERDE using a clustered environment, for example: Cluster Master, Cluster Master Candidate, numerous VDI only servers, then there are significant changes that need to be considered.
A database engineer familiar with Postgres installation and setup should be involved when deploying this type of environment.
It's highly recommended that Postgres be installed on a separate, dedicated server. This allows for the database to have its own RAM and storage.
Furthermore, VERDE's CM/CMC failover feature requires Postgres to be on a separate server. Shared storage is still required to support VERDE clustered deployment.
