Understanding Site Device AMP Compliance and Its Benefits

Overview

NComputing Management Portal provides Site Device AMP Compliance to help customers and partners monitor Device Annual Maintenance Program (AMP) coverage across registered devices.

Maintaining Site Device AMP Compliance provides two key benefits:

  • Centralized visibility of Device AMP coverage
  • Greater flexibility for LEAF OS license transfers, including eligible devices activated for more than three years

This helps organizations maintain Device AMP coverage while giving IT teams more flexibility when replacing, refreshing, or repurposing endpoint devices.

What is Site Device AMP Compliance?

A Management Portal account is Site Device AMP Compliant when all registered devices that require Device AMP have active, unexpired coverage.

Devices that do not require Device AMP are excluded from the calculation.

You can view your status under:

Management Portal > My Registered Devices > Site Device AMP Compliance

The page shows:

  • Total registered devices requiring Device AMP
  • Devices with active Device AMP
  • Devices with expired Device AMP
  • Overall Device AMP compliance percentage
  • Device AMP expiration dates

Filters help identify expired coverage or devices approaching expiration.

Benefits of Being Site Device AMP Compliant

Greater LEAF OS license transfer flexibility

Normally, a LEAF OS license cannot be revoked or transferred after the device has been activated for more than three years.

For a Site Device AMP Compliant account, eligible LEAF OS licenses can be revoked even after three years.

The revoked license seat is returned to the license pool associated with the original license key and can then be assigned to another device.

This is especially useful when:

  • Replacing aging or failed hardware
  • Refreshing endpoint devices
  • Repurposing PCs or thin clients
  • Moving LEAF OS to replacement hardware
  • Managing larger endpoint fleets

Better Device AMP visibility

The Site Device AMP Compliance page provides a centralized view of:

  • Active Device AMP
  • Expired Device AMP
  • Upcoming expirations
  • Overall site compliance

This makes it easier to identify devices that need attention.

Easier renewal planning

Expiration information and filters help customers and partners identify coverage that should be renewed before it expires.

Simplified reporting

Compliance information can also be downloaded for internal review, planning, and reporting.

What happens if my site is not compliant?

If the Management Portal account is not Site Device AMP Compliant, the standard LEAF OS license transfer rules continue to apply.

In particular, a LEAF OS license generally cannot be revoked or transferred once the device has been activated for more than three years.

Restoring Device AMP coverage and returning the site to compliance provides the additional license-transfer flexibility described above.

How is Site Device AMP Compliance calculated?

Site Device AMP Compliance is calculated as:

Devices with active Device AMP ÷ Total registered devices requiring Device AMP × 100

For example, if 100 devices require Device AMP and all 100 have active coverage, the site is 100% Device AMP Compliant.

How do I check my compliance?

  1. Sign in to NComputing Management Portal.
  2. Go to My Registered Devices.
  3. Select Site Device AMP Compliance.
  4. Review the compliance percentage and device details.
  5. Use the filters to identify devices requiring attention.
